Originally built as a detention center for rebellious slaves and later used as a quarantine station, the island is now a peaceful sanctuary and popular day trip destination.
During this half-day tour, you’ll explore the historic prison ruins, learn about its colonial past, and get the chance to meet the island’s giant Aldabra tortoises, some over 150 years old!
After the history walk, enjoy time to swim, snorkel, or relax on the beautiful white-sand beach. The surrounding coral reefs are rich with tropical fish and ideal for snorkeling.
